Christian Smith has practiced employment law for over thirteen years, representing employers and employees in litigation in state and federal court, as well as in administrative proceedings and mediation. She also worked as in-house employment counsel for a large Silicon Valley technology company where she advised human resource professionals and senior management on matters involving compensation, discrimination, internal investigations, trade secrets and legal compliance.

Today, Christian routinely provides a wide array of practical and cost-effective employment law and human resource counseling services. She counsels employers on matters including performance and terminations, harassment and discrimination complaints, protection of trade secrets, disability issues, personnel policies, wage and hour compliance and leaves of absence. Current clients represent such diverse industries as technology, medicine, retail and nonprofit organizations.

Her practice also focuses on conducting objective and discrete internal workplace investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination and employee misconduct. She also delivers customized and legally compliant employment law trainings to educate supervisors, managers and employees.

Christian is admitted to practice in California and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the California Bar and the San Mateo County Bar Associations. Christian earned her law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law where she received the annual award for excellence in the study of labor and employment law. She holds an undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College.
